  Level - Elite for age group One mile was walked near or at the 99% for my age group of 57 as a woman with a pace of 12.01.  An improvement of  43 seconds was noted from the previous mile walk.  The average speed was 4.9 and a maximum speed of 6.5 was achieved.  The initial speed was 4.8 with an increase of 4.9-5.0 at .50 miles, 5.1 at .75 miles, 5.1-5.5 at .85 miles, and 5.6-6.1 at .90 miles until I walked the entire mile.  The mile was the second mile for this afternoon.  Before I walked the second mile, I walked a total of .05 miles, with an increase of speed for each .01 miles starting at 4.5 to and ending at 4.8.  The first mile was walked at a pace of 16.37, and an improvement of 42 seconds in comparison to the first walk on the last previous first-mile walk.  The speed was increased from 3.4 - 3.5 at .50 miles, 3.5 - 4.0 at .75 miles, and 4.1 at .90 miles, 4.2 at .92 miles, 4.3 at .94 miles, .94 at .96 miles, and 4.5 at .98 miles.

  I performed at an elite level for my age group on the one-mile walk this afternoon.  I ran at an elite level for my age group on August 17, August 24, September 5, and September 10 on distances ranging from .20-.22 miles.

I walked one mile at the 97th percentile for my age of 57 as a woman at a pace of 12.44, and it was an improvement of 23 seconds from the previous mile walk.  The average speed was 4.7 and a maximum speed was 6.3.  The initial speed was 4.6 with an increase of 4.7 at .50 miles, 4.8-5.0 at .75 miles, 5.0-5.5 at .85 miles, and 5.6-6.0 at .90 miles until the end of the mile.   The mile was the second one for this afternoon.   The first mile was at a slower pace of 17.19, and an improvement of 24 seconds in comparison to the first walk on the last previous first-mile walk.  The speed was increased from 3.2 - 3.5 at .50 miles, 3.5 - 4.0 at .75 miles, and 4.1 at .90 miles, 4.2 at .92 miles, 4.3 at .94 miles, .94 at .96 miles, and 4.5 at .98 miles.

  I joined the Army in 1995 and the basic training was in Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri.  I performed at the maximum for the 2-mile test in running near the end of basic training.

I ran one mile at 9.11 on the treadmill, making it 11 seconds faster than the previous mile.  The average speed was reported as 6.5 with a maximum speed reported as 8.0.  The beginning speed was 6.5 and increased at .75 miles to 6.6 with an increase at .85 until the end of the mile from 6.7 to 8.0.  I warmed-up and warmed-down for under one minute.  Before the run, I viewed the following videos: Allie Ostrander ( Testing My Fitness for the US Championships ft. David Roche ), Coach Holly ( How to Run a Mile Without Stopping | Track Progression! ), and MK ( How to Speed Up Easy Pace from 11 min to 9 min per mile ).  After viewing the videos, I ran at speeds of 3, 4, 5.5, 6, and 6.5 for each at 1:30 before I ran the mile.

My walking pace was at the 96th percentile for my age of 57 as a woman at a pace of 13.07, with an improvement of 37 seconds from the previous mile walk.  The mile was the second one for this evening.  The average speed was 4.5 and a maximum speed was 5.9.  I intentionally walked the first mile at a slower pace of 17.43, increasing the speed from 3.0 - 3.5 at .50 miles, 3.5 - 4.0 at .75 miles, and 4.1 at .90 miles, 4.2 at .92 miles, 4.3 at .94 miles, .94 at .96 miles, and 4.5 at .98 miles.  I ran for one minute at each speed at  4.0, 5.0, 6.0, and 7.0 on the treadmill at the fitness center.
